falls yeah
Hey guys! been a while since i've been bothered to write a post on here, so here's my little falls adventure in one post!
after a grooling 5 days stuck in Tasmania over Christmas, i hoped on a plane (alone) and made my way back to Melbourne for my most anticipated weekend since 2012! luckily for some reason, dad lent me his 19 year old car to get Caitlin and i to Lorne.
on the 29th of Dec, i made my way to Caitlin's house, only to crash the car when reversing out of her street.... but other than that, no other accidents! we then shook out heads, laughed a bit, and made tracks for falls, no incidents the second time!
after we set up everything and got our festival gear on, we went exploring a bit around the festival area. the first day always has the strange acts on, and none of the bands on the advertised lineup. we then spotted Jules and Alex and followed them back to their tent to hang out a bit with the others. also, on the first night is a party known as "boogie nights", apparently every year there is a theme, and this years was intergalactic. essentially everyone dressed themselves in foil and went to go have a dance in the grand theatre. i decided to go as a spacey gal and wore my cousins American apparel ice skater dress, topped with piggy tail buns wrapped in foil, lots of glitter, and a boggle eye glued to my head! it was fab!!
me, joolz and giuls
yes, my undies are over my dress
the next morning (the 28th) was when all the bands started performing and when Maddy, Tess and Emma arrived!!! whilst waiting for them to arrive, Geri, Caitlin, Abbie, Will and i hung around the festival to listen to the new and up coming bands, i however was just itching to see owl eyes! (she was amazing by the way).

Cait and i then got very drunk (me a bit quicker than her) and i got lost, but during this time, i saw Solange in the front row, and then flight facilities w/ owl eyes singing and MGMT! surprisingly, MGMT were actually so good! i forgot how much a loved their first album! Sparky and i screamed the lyrics to each other the whole show until i had no voice. after MGMT, Sparky, Jono Seb and i watched the roots, but i started dozing off during their massive jam at the end.
on Monday (the 30th) i mostly spent the day with my other friends (non school ones)! however i was feeling ill from the night before so didn't get to rowdy :( but everyone else did which was fun to watch! i don't really remember who played during the day, but at night Crystal Fighters played and they were awesome and so much fun to dance to! and then The Wombats played, yet another one of my young adolescent loves that were so much fun! I also had a guy hit on me sober for the first time ever (that i know of), which was interesting! but i was far too excited dancing to The Wombats to even see if he was cute or not, silly boys!

then came NYE (the 31st obvs)! since i was driving, i told myself i wouldn't drink and go to bed early, that didn't happen, so i took my chances and drank myself silly!! during the day, i was mostly with Geri, Abbie, Cait and Maddy, but i kept getting lost and finding new people all day (not drunk at this point). we sat on the hill and watched heaps of bands, i don't really remember who at this point, but they were all fantastic none the less. then in the afternoon, a few of us went to see Johnny Marr, who was so good! it seemed like watching a Smiths cover band, but i didn't care! we then went back to their camp site to have some more drinks and to get all nicely dressed up for the New Year!!
maddy and i being coot
me rolling down a hill like a sausage
before we all disappeared on each other, we all made sure to have a meeting spot right before Vampire Weekend, so no one would be alone during the count down. but before that, The Cat Empire were on! and even though it's all a bit hazy, i'm pretty sure i boogied during the entire set! then after a stressful ordeal wondering if everyone was going to make it to the meeting place in time, we found everyone and in a drunken cheery mood, we all found a spot together for Vampire Weekend. this was definitely the highlight of my falls! they did the best set list ever! (i've seen them 3 times now)! all the songs were perfect and fun! what more could you ask for! then came the count down (which Ezra stuffed up!) and we all gave/got out NYE kisses (heh) and then about five seconds later, they finished their set, and Sparky put me on his shoulders during Walcott, it was all so perfect!!
geri, abbie and i w/ new fronds
chilling with the pillows
even though i knew i had a long drive ahead of me the next day, and hadn't eaten dinner and was absolutely exhausted, i then soldiered on and followed the rest of the gang for some more New Years shenanigans! in the Falls Village we went to this thing called the 10 minute rave, which essentially is a small room with rave music where a few people enter at a time and you just dance your ass off for ten minutes! after that work out, the few left standing went for a lie down on all the rugs and pillows under the bar tent and reminisced about everything. the perfect way to end a great trip!!
the pack up/drive home was uneventful and boring so not going to write about it!!
but, here's some more photos!

shangri la
Hey there!!
So today was a day I've been waiting for for a long time, the release of the beautiful Jake Bugg's second studio album "Shangri La" and all expectations were met (thank god). With this thought in mind, I realised how many of my favourite bands/artists have released new successful albums (with the exception of the strokes), so with that in mind, I've chosen the best few albums and the best songs off each album (or two if the album is realllllly good!)

So, for all you blog regulars, you would have realised that for the past few months I have been taking images of some of the people in my life in order to create my final art piece for my first year at uni. Well I have finally finished these images and am currently creating my hardcover book to which I will be presenting the images in.
